Attention
Attention support
Answers to common questions about the Attention extension, and how to reach us.
Does Attention post, like, follow, or message for me?
No. Attention never performs an action on your X account. It adds information to the page; everything you publish is a signed Nostr event that you confirm yourself.
What does it read on X?
Only public information X has already loaded on the page, such as numeric account ids, handles, and post ids, plus your own numeric X id. It does not read direct messages or protected content, and it does not keep login tokens. Details are in the privacy policy.
Where is my key?
In an encrypted vault inside the extension (AES-256-GCM with a key derived by PBKDF2). The key stays in the extension's background worker and is cleared from memory when the vault locks. For early testing, use a dedicated key rather than your main one.
Can I try it without publishing anything?
Yes. Demo mode loads a sample web of trust. What you do in demo mode stays on your device and is not sent to relays.
Why does my friend see a different answer about the same account?
Because answers start from each person's own circle. You and your friend trust different people, so the evidence that reaches you can differ. Neither answer is a score of the person; each is the evidence one circle has (how it works).
How do I take a statement back?
Change it or delete it from inside Attention. That publishes a newer statement that replaces the old one. Relays decide how long they keep old events, so treat anything you publish as public.
Which languages does it support?
English, Danish, German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
How do I report a problem?
Email attention@trust.dance or open an issue on GitHub. Please do not include your secret key or recovery words.
